Shamrock Stables is located on eight quiet acres. We are located between China Grove and Mooresville, North Carolina. We are also easily accessible from Salisbury, Kannapolis and Statesville.
There are two main barns on the property and two shed rows of outside stalls. We have a total of 24 stalls on the property. Stalls measure are anywhere from 10' x 10' to 14' x 10'. Each also stall has sliding doors. The lower barn has a feed room while the upper barn has three places for tacking up, a feed room, and two tack rooms. Two of the tacking areas have water hook-up and can be used as washing areas. There is also a full bathroom with a shower and boarder's lounge.
We treat all horses in our care as if they were our own. This philosophy separates Shamrock Stables from many other boarding facilities. Stalls are bedded with shavings and are cleaned at least once daily, seven days a week. Automatic waterers mean that horses always have access to fresh clean water. Currently all horses are fed Purina Strategy feed (www.purina-mills.com/) and a local Orchard grass or Fescue hay depending on the season. Horses receive hay and feed twice daily. Client provided supplements may be added to the horse's feed at no additional cost. Customized feeding plans are available by arrangement.
Horses are turned out with a personalized turnout schedule. We have access to a covered round pen, a large pasture and the riding arena for turnout. We are in the process of making another pasture below the riding arena as well. All horses are hand walked to and from the pasture. Horses may be turned out individually, in pairs, or small groups. Horses may be turned out in client provided boots or wraps.
Our round pen is 50' in diameter with solid board walls. It is great for lounging or getting young horses started. The footing is sand and is not too deep, nor is it too shallow. The arena measures 170' x 70' and has slate footing. The arena drains exceptionally well so that you can ride your horse and not worry about your horse slipping after any wet weather.
You are more than welcome to bring in your own vet or farrier, if you choose.
